The Mandevilla plant has become a common patio plant, and rightfully so. The brilliant Mandevilla flowers add a tropical flair to any landscape. It intertwines on the circular trellis within the pot as the vines grow and produce a ruby red and/or white flower. Perfect for patio, back deck, or screened-in porch.
Upon arrival, your plant will be thirsty. Please cut off any spent blooms. Then remove the plant and inner pot from the basket or vessel. SOAK with water gently the entire plant until it drains from the bottom into the sink. Also, gently spray all the leaves and ther buds. Let the plant sit in the skin for an hour. Then repeat the process one more time. Keep the soil evenly moist, but do not have sitting water in or around the plant. (While it flowers, you will need to add water every day to moisten the soil- not soak. Mandevilla vines need some shade. They enjoy bright, indirect light or filtered sunlight, but can get burned in direct, full sunlight. In order to get the best mandevilla flowers throughout the summer, give your mandevilla plant a high phosphorus, water soluble fertilizer once every two week. Also pinch your mandevilla. This method of pruning your mandevilla will create a bushier and fuller plant.
