The white Asiatic lilies arrive in tight buds and will bloom beautifully over the coming days. As they open, they reveal lovely, long-lasting flowers. The vibrant blue delphiniums, along with the addition of blue thistles, provide an equally elegant touch, perfectly complementing the lilies and the elegant vase. To encourage lily blooming, please place the arrangement in direct sunlight. Indirect sunlight or natural light delays the blooming. If the arrangement is not placed in sunlight, the lilies may take up to two weeks to bloom. The small buds on the lilies do not bloom and may be trimmed if so desired. Please note that the delphinium life span is shorter than that of the lilies. The blue thistles can be dried and enjoyed for months to come.

Directions: All lilies that arrive in tight buds need direct sunlight to bloom. Please note that the multiple buds on each stem may not all bloom; this is a characteristic of the lily. Cut non-bloomers from the stem; as they begin to brown, the buds take energy from the large blooms. To advance quicker blooming, cut 1/3 inch at a 45-degree angle, change the water to lukewarm, add a teaspoon of sugar and place the bouquet in indirect sunlight. Lilies may take up to two weeks to bloom. Delphinium life span is shorter than that of the lilies (compost and rest the thistle and lilies). We recommend trimming the stems for the buds/blooms to be 3”- 5” above the vase. Change your water and trim stems 1/3 inch every 1-2 days. Do not allow any foliage to be underwater. Lastly, as the lilies bloom, the stamens (brown or yellow color) in the center of the flower- REMOVE with a tissue over the sink and discard. If any pollen drops on the lilies- use a Q-tip and “dab”.
