Opuntia Cactus “Prickly Pear”

The Opuntia cactus, commonly known as the prickly pear cactus, is a distinctive succulent known for its flat, oval-shaped pads (cladodes) that resemble paddles. Whether it’s the quirky shape of their pads or the delightful surprise of their blossoms, Opuntia cacti have a way of infusing fun and joy into your plant collection and surroundings.

  • 10-15 inches tall
  • Available in a:
  • cachepot or a basket

Watering: Opuntia cacti are drought-tolerant and prefer infrequent but deep watering. Water thoroughly when the soil is dry, and reduce watering in winter when the plant is dormant.  Requires full sun to thrive. Place it in a location where it can receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Insufficient light can cause the pads to elongate and lose their characteristic shape.
