Bouquet Care

Flowers from Calyx Flowers require only simple care. You will be rewarded with beautiful blossoms if you follow these basic suggested care tips.

Basic Care Tips:

1. Mix the flower food packet that came with your flowers according to label instructions. We suggest using warm water temperature to help dissolve the flower food but cold water is okay as long as the flower food is completely dissolved.
2. Always cut stems (remove a minimum of 1/2") in air or under water using sharp tools such as pruning shears or a knife. Placing the bottom few inches of the stems in a dishpan of clean water and cutting them with under water with pruning shears can be better than cutting in air, but it is not mandatory. Begin arranging immediately.
3. Most bouquets will fit nicely in a 6"- 8" tall vase. Place flowers in vase or container and keep them out of direct sunlight and away from hot or cold drafts.

5. Be patient. Most buds will gradually open from the base of the stem in 2-4 days. Certain flowers bloom quicker than others do.
6. IMPORTANT! Add fresh water daily.
7. To enjoy your flowers for the longest possible time, trim away or discard spent blossoms as your bouquet ages to allow them to channel their energy to the remaining flowers and rearrange if necessary.
